It was especially for the club chairs of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s that he developed a true passion. It became a true love. But he also loved the club sofas of the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, as well as those of the 1920s and 1960s. Passion for Vintage Furniture
In fact, even if he was not a craftsman, he already loved all the vintage furniture, be it chair, sofa, armchair, , Coffee table, dining table, office armchair. In this leather workshop - Brittany, he now undertakes work based on his enormous craftsmanship, renovation work and restoration of antique and vintage furniture. His violin of Ingres, his specialty was the restoration and the whole renovation of club armchairs and club sofas.
His first piece of renovation
The first piece of furniture he gave a second life thanks to the renovation of leather and the restoration of old leather was a club chair with a mustache back in the 1940s. , This beautiful vintage furniture! For the restoration, he entirely rebuilt the bellows and the seat. The padding was done with vegetable hair. And the padding of the cushion with, among others, feathers. The leather was vintage, very old. He had to renovate it completely: he skated old-fashioned leather, and restored the armrests and arm-rests of new leather, which he skated in the old fashion. But underneath, there were straps and no-sag springs! So he was able to restore life to this old armchair club with mustache back. Once the leather armchair was renovated, it was almost unrecognizable, so it was beautiful!
